Sticky Toffee Pudding 英式椰棗太妃蛋糕
Sticky Toffee Pudding – A British classic dessert, is one of my favourite too. Every time when we go to restaurant if there is a sticky toffee pudding on menu, I can’t resist it. It is actually sponge cake made with treacle and date, to give it the sticky texture and dark colour. THEN with the most important thing – toffee sauce. Serve with ice-cream, pour a loooot of toffee sauce on top, perfect dessert, no doubt!
Cantonese Steamed Rice Rolls (Cheung Fun) 港式混醬腸粉/鮮蝦腸粉
Cheung Fun , Cantonese steamed rice rolls are always my favourite food. Grow up in Hong Kong, you always have cheung fun for breakfast. You buy the cheung fun in a street food stall, or hawker stall, mix with sesame sauce, hoisin sauce and spicy sauce. They are sooooo delicious! Or you can find it in Chinese restaurant when you have Dim Sum, steamed rice rolls with BBQ pork, prawns, or beef inside. They are so delicious too.
Hong Kong-style BBQ Pork (Char Siu) 港式蜜汁叉燒
But it is very easy to make at home, even is not with charcoal burner, it is still good. Very simple marinate, then bake in oven. It is healthier and simple version. Perfect to serve with rice and fried egg. Hope you like it!
Miso Carbonara 味噌卡邦尼意粉
Carbonara is very rich, creamy pasta, for the sauce, you DO NOT need any cream. What you need is egg yolk and cheese. Add a little bit of miso, it is suddenly become Asian style. It is super delicious. I hope you like it!
Fluffy Steamed Bao (Bun) 刈包皮
I can’t believe I never try this BAO before until I live in foreign countries. This Taiwanese bao is so fluffy and soft, stuffed with any kind of fillings, especially pork belly, they are the best for me. It is just like Asian style burgers.
I know, it is so easy to buy the frozen bao in Asian supermarket, but the freshly made one does taste so much better. I braised the pork belly myself, you can also add in beef, mushroom (as vegetarian) , chicken, or fried chicken!! Be creative and enjoy!
