Sweet and Sour Tofu 糖醋豆腐
The most popular Chinese takeaway dish, I am sure is Cantonese Sweet and Sour Pork. The are sweet and sour (ok!) and is so perfect with a bowl of rice. This time I use tofu instead, make the whole dish lighter and healthier, yet same delicious!
The most important thing of this dish is the sauce, you don’t need much ingredients and mix it according to your own taste. Trust me, follow the recipe and you can make as good as you had in Chinese restaurants 😉
Non-Spicy Mapo Tofu 不辣麻婆豆腐
Mapo Tofu, one of the most favourite dish in Chinese restaurants. Spicy and delicious, perfect to serve with rice (or noodles as well! ).
How about the non-spicy one? The ingredients are very similar : tofu and minced meat. I love to add mushrooms as well. Very easy and simple, it takes only 15 minutes! Perfect quick, easy weekday dinner!
Almond Jelly 杏仁豆腐
When I was kid, every time we went to Chinese restaurant to have dim sum, I always looking forward to have the dessert. Almond Jelly is one of my favourite! They served with a bowl of canned mixed fruit with a cocktail umbrella on top. I don’t know why it called Almond Tofu in Chinese tho, maybe because it looks like tofu?!
Anyway, this classic dessert is so easy to make and it is perfect to serve at party!
Braised Tofu 紅燒豆腐
Traditional Chinese dish – braised tofu that I always love to order in Chinese restaurant. This sounds like a restaurant dish but actually is super easy to make and is so delicious.
In some restaurants they deep-fry the tofu, but for healthier version, I just pan-fry it. The sauce is so easy to make and is perfect to serve with plain rice.
Steamed Tofu with Hot Pickled Mustard 榨菜肉絲蒸豆腐
Simple daily Chinese dish that you can make it in 15 minutes! I always love to cook tofu, they are cheap, healthy and delicious! Steamed tofu is one of the best dishes that you don’t need to put any oil. So easy and quick meal ready!
Korean Pan-fried Tofu 韓式豆腐
Tofu is very healthy, well everyone knows! They are cheap and very delicious! You can fry them, make soup, cook classic Chinese dish. This Korean style pan-fried tofu is so yummy, golden and crispy on the outside, soft in the inside. With the super simple but delicious sauce, seriously, I can eat the whole box of tofu!
It is perfect to serve with plain rice or even for a snack with beer. Enjoy!
