Hong Kong Style Fish Shumai (siu mai) 港式魚肉燒賣

When talk about Cantonese Dim Sum, I am sure you have tried Shumai (siu mai). The small yellow wrapper with pork and shrimps. So Yummy!

However, this fish siu mai is different, it wrapped with fish (of course!) It is one of the most popular Hong Kong street food. In UK, I can’t find fish siu mai, so I better make it myself. You can choose whatever fish you like, I am lazy, so I used the frozen fish fillet. They are so easy to make and it taste just like like Hong Kong!

We love to use sesame oil when come to cooking, it is flavourful and make the dish into next level. We also love to use sesame seeds to make candy, crunchy and delicious. There are difference between the taste of white and black sesame seeds, for this recipe, you can use any of your desire.

Doughnut Muffins 冬甩鬆餅

Baking time! I don’t really like to make doughnut at home, cause frying stuff, no so healthy blablablablah. But I really like these doughnut muffins, they are kind of like jam doughnut yet taste like muffins. Doughnut + muffin, great combination. 

They are so easy to make and no electric mixer needed. Simply mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients, bake! Enjoy!

Hibiscus season is here! But I can’t buy the fresh hibiscus where I live, so I used dried hibiscus instead. Actually they are as good as the fresh one, and easier to keep it for longer time. 

Hibiscus has many benefit, sour and taste refreshing. Beside making a drink, I love to make dessert with it. This time, I make very simple broken glass jelly, not with many different colour but just with hibiscus. They look so pretty and super yummy! Hope you like it too!

Mango Pomelo Sago Pudding 楊枝甘露

Very popular Hong Kong dessert  – Mango Pomelo Sago Pudding, I am not sure if it called pudding, as it is not pudding, but it also thicker than soup…anyway, it is a very delicious dessert. 

It made of mango puree, coconut cream, evaporated milk (that you can use milk instead, but it tastes different) and then add some mango chunks and pomelo. It is kind of healthy dessert, and super easy to make. Try and hope you will love it!

One of my favourite dim sum – Cantonese steamed sponge cake, ok, I have so many favourite dim sum. We always order sponge cake when in Chinese restaurant, usually they cut it into big square, then you just share. Of course, it never enough.

This steamed sponge cake is airy, moist and delicious. Make with brown sugar that make it taste richer. I tried so many recipes and this one is the best so far. Very easy to make and hope you love it too!

Korean Andong Jjimdak (Chicken Stew) 韓式安東燉雞

Every time I go to my usual Korean restaurant in Dubai, I always love to order this Andong jjimdak, chicken stew. Don’t know why, they are just chicken stew with noodles, but they are soooooo yummy. And every time it comes with a big bowl of chicken and we can never finish it. So I change my strategy and order it takeaway after I finish a meal there. Perfect for lunch hehe!
