Classic Cheese Scones 英式芝士鬆餅

Scones are one of the favourite thing I like to make at home, for causal snack or little treat for our guests. It is super easy to make and after many many times of practise, I can say my scones are pretty good! 😉 *approved by my English husband haha

This time I share with you this cheddar cheese scones, they are light and full of cheese. Simple spread the butter on the scones and enjoy with a cup of tea. Hope you will like this recipe, enjoy!

我們經常吃的傳統英式鬆餅都是甜的,塗clotted cream和果醬享用。但其實英國的鬆餅還有鹹的。這次就做這個Cheddar Cheese 鬆餅,咸咸的,充滿芝士香。鬆軟不膩,香單的塗牛油享用,超好味!

要做好吃的鬆餅,謹記不要用打蛋器,所有工序用雙手便可,要輕力,不要搓麵糰般,不是麵包來的。只要簡單的步驟,便做到超好味又正宗鬆餅,快試試!

In a large bowl, mix flour and baking powder together. Then add in cubed butter, use your hands to crumble the butter and mix with the dry ingredients. 

Add in cheddar cheese and 150ml milk, mix well to form a dough. (If the dough is too dry, add some milk; if too wet, add some flour)

Place the dough onto lightly floured surface, use your hands to form the dough together. Then press the dough into 3 cm thick.Use a cookie cutter to cut circle, place on lined baking sheet.

Brush some egg wash on top, bake in preheated oven at 180C, for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden.

*This recipe can make 6-8 scones.

先將麵粉與發粉拌勻,然後加入已切小塊的奶油。用手碎奶油,與麵粉拌勻,成顆粒狀.

加入車打芝士碎及120毫升牛奶拌勻(如麵團太濕,可加點麵粉)

在枱上灑少許麵粉,放上麵糰,用手輕力將麵糰推成完整麵糰(*不要搓麵糰,要輕力)

用手將麵糰壓成約2-3cm厚,然後用水杯或餅乾模印出圓形 (不要用擀麵棒壓麵團,用手會較好)

放在烘焙紙上,在鬆餅面上塗一層蛋液。(這可令鬆餅焗出來更金黃色)放入已預熱200度C焗爐,焗約12至15分鐘,至表面金黃色即成!

趁鬆餅暖暖時,橫切一半,塗上牛油享用!

*這個食譜可做6至8個鬆餅

  • 50 g cheddar cheese
  • 120 ml milk
  • beaten egg for brushing
