Cantonese Steamed Sponge Cake 馬拉糕
One of my favourite dim sum – Cantonese steamed sponge cake, ok, I have so many favourite dim sum. We always order sponge cake when in Chinese restaurant, usually they cut it into big square, then you just share. Of course, it never enough.
This steamed sponge cake is airy, moist and delicious. Make with brown sugar that make it taste richer. I tried so many recipes and this one is the best so far. Very easy to make and hope you love it too!
Korean Andong Jjimdak (Chicken Stew) 韓式安東燉雞
Every time I go to my usual Korean restaurant in Dubai, I always love to order this Andong jjimdak, chicken stew. Don’t know why, they are just chicken stew with noodles, but they are soooooo yummy. And every time it comes with a big bowl of chicken and we can never finish it. So I change my strategy and order it takeaway after I finish a meal there. Perfect for lunch hehe!
Shakshuka 蕃茄烤蛋
Shakshuka, this healthy baked eggs with tomato sauce, originally from Tunisia, North Africa. But very popular also in Middle East, sometimes when we went to cafe in Dubai, we also have Shakshuka. Of course different household has different recipe, but they are all simple, healthy and delicious.
Simple cook the tomato sauce with bell pepper, then bake the eggs inside the sauce. Serve with warm bread….mmmm..so yummy! Perfect for brunch and everyone will love it!
Bread Pizza 麵包薄餅
How awesome is that if we can have a homemade pizza without making the pizza dough?! Yes, I know, it is not too difficult to make your pizza dough, but from time to time, we just need to be lazy right?
This bread pizza is just perfect! I use Arabic flatbread but you can use any bread you like, slice sandwich bread is good too. Put all the toppings you like and bake. Seriously, so simple, easy and delicious! Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea…why not?!
Apple Muffins 蘋果鬆餅
Muffin recipes again!!! Super easy to make, simple ingredients and few steps, guaranteed everyone cake make it!
This time I make the apple favour, it is a bit sour, very refreshing and delicious. The apple can make the muffins moister. Perfect for breakfast and snack!
Hibiscus Apple Tea 洛神花蘋果茶
Hibiscus tea are always my favourite, they are sour and full of health benefit. They can help lower blood pressure, cholesterol and full of antioxidants. I love to add apple in hibiscus tea, add a little bit of sugar to make it less sour. It is very refreshing and delicious. Perfect for women!
Chinese Twice Cooked Pork 回鍋肉
Traditional Shanghainese twice cooked pork, it is literally need to cook the pork two times to make this dish. The pork is tender, spicy and super delicious. Only few ingredients and you can make a restaurant-quality dish.
This is an easy version, simply pan-fry the pork, set aside. Cook the other ingredient and mix the pork together. Quick, easy and super delicious. Perfect to serve with plain rice.
Almond Jelly 杏仁豆腐
When I was kid, every time we went to Chinese restaurant to have dim sum, I always looking forward to have the dessert. Almond Jelly is one of my favourite! They served with a bowl of canned mixed fruit with a cocktail umbrella on top. I don’t know why it called Almond Tofu in Chinese tho, maybe because it looks like tofu?!
Anyway, this classic dessert is so easy to make and it is perfect to serve at party!
