Classic Cheese Scones 芝士鬆餅
This quick, simple, cheesy classic cheese scone is just perfect! Golden color with cheesy smell and flavour. Spread with butter, with a cup of tea, perfect for afternoon tea or breakfast or parties!
I love making scones, cause you don’t need electric mixer, you just need a big bowl and hands. Yes sometimes you find some recipes use the electric mixer, but actually scones are quite delicate, with hands are easier to handle and won’t overmix it.
Scones have many variation, you can make the plain one or add chocolate chips, raisin, cranberries. But this savory one is just soooo cheesy, so delicious. Super easy to make, just remember be gentle, do NOT need a dough, is not a bread. And you will have the perfect classic scones.

In a large bowl, mix flour and baking powder together. Then add in cubed cold butter, use your hands to crumble it with flour. Add in cheddar cheese and mix well. Gradually add in milk and form a dough, you may not need all milk, form a dough is okay.
在大碗內,將麵粉及泡打粉拌勻,再加入牛油,用手捏碎牛油,與麵粉拌勻成麵包糠狀。加車打芝士碎拌勻。最後逐少加入牛奶,成麵團便可,未必需要用所有牛奶的。
Put the mixture on the floured worktop, to form a dough, be gentle and no need knead it. Use your hand to press the dough into around 2cm thick (do no need rolling pin) Cut a round circle diameter of 5 cm.
Place on lined baking sheet. Brush some milk on the scones, then tip in oven at 220C, for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden. Cool on wire rack and serve warm with butter.
將麵團放在灑有麵粉的枱上,用手將輕力將麵團堆成完整麵團,不用搓麵團的。然後用手壓平麵團成2厘米厚,印出直徑約5厘米的圓形。放在鋪有烘焙紙的烤盤上,在鬆餅表面塗一層牛奶。放入已預熱180度焗爐,焗12至15分鐘至金黃色。放在涼架上待涼,鬆餅暖暖時,塗上牛油享用。
- 225 gram all-purpose flour
- 12 gram baking powder
- 55 gram unsalted butter, cubed
- 50 gram cheddar cheese, grated
- 150 ml milk

- 泡打粉 -12克
- 無鹽牛油 -55克
- 車打芝士碎 - 50克
- 牛奶 -150毫升
- Preheat oven at 180c.

- Bake in oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden.
- Cool on wire rack and serve warm with butter.
- This recipe can make 6 to 8 scones.
